The New Website
Nerjaweather.com underwent a major re-design that went live on January 04, 2010. The objective was to make the site more flexible for possible future expansion and to introduce advertising to help Malcolm (site owner and weather expert) with the ever-increasing operating costs of this amateur weather station and its website.
We hope to be able to raise sufficient funding to implement an independent standby weather station to take over from the main station during maintenance and when Malcolm is in the UK.
Average Weather Data Calculations
Malcolm recently (Feb, 2010) recalculated the Rainfall, Temperature and Daily Averages to cover the period 1992 to 2009 (inclusive). This is a period of 18 years so the influence of including an additional year no longer has a noticeable effect.
Accordingly, it has now been decided to only update the averages when there is a sufficiently large change, in any one year, to make a noticeable impression on the longterm average.
